A little catch-up post

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. It was a crazy fall/winter with tons of things going on. In September we took William to Disneyland for the first time. We had Give A Day/Get A Day passes and we had so much fun! I've always loved Disneyland, but it's so much better when you have a little one with you because you get to see it through their eyes. He thought everything was so exciting! We ended up getting Annual Passports, so we went a few more times. I definitely wanted to see it at Christmas time and it didn't disappoint. Even though William fell asleep during the parade, I'm still glad we went.

Between holidays and whatnot we've been pretty busy. We've been doing some projects around the house which has kept us pretty busy, too. It seems like every weekend we're working on one project or another, but it feels good to put a little love into our house, seeing as how we've lived in it for almost 4 years now.

William turned 3 on February 21st. I can't believe it. He goes to preschool and absolutely loves it. He knows his ABC's and can count to 20 (including the lesser known number eleventeen). He knows his colors and his shapes and can tell the difference between a guitar, violin, and cello. Maybe he'll be a concert musician someday, who knows?

For his birthday we took him to see the Imagination Movers in Santa Barbara. It's a show on Disney Junior and he's completely obsessed. He had so much fun seeing his "Movers" and we had fun seeing him do the robot in the aisles!

Anyway, I think that pretty much catches us up. I really want to try and be more diligent about blogging, but it tends to go on the back burner when you're chasing a now 3 year old boy around the house! :)

Wow, I suck at this. Seriously.

Ok, so I haven't posted in a while. Like over a year. Sorry about that. Turns out having an active 2 year old in the house doesn't leave much time for blogging. We're alive and kicking, just bad about blogging about it. I'll be posting pics of our first trip to Disneyland hopefully next week so stay tuned!

Beach Adventure

Due to ridiculous 100* heat around here, we packed up and went to the beach last weekend for a day trip. We ended up at Port Hueneme State Park in Ventura.
I was a little skittish about going to the beach, as we've tried before and William was NOT impressed, but this time we came prepared with a bucket and shovel! It made all the difference! The beach toys were a huge hit and he played in the sand for about 2 hours before he started yawning. His favorite game was watching Ryan build sand buildings and then knocking them down.
All in all, it was a really good day. The weather was wonderful (70*) and it was just a great family day. I think we'll definitely be doing this more in the future!

16 months...wow. Really?

Daddy took William to the park for a photo shoot and got some really great shots. He's getting so big it's almost sad! He's walking everywhere and talking up a storm. He says about 30ish words now (I've lost track) and he's so funny! He loves to make faces at you to get you to laugh and he kisses everything (including our cat, who just LOVES it as you can imagine). I can't believe he's almost 1-1/2 years old. Where does the time go?

Just because he's cute...

I haven't posted any videos before, but I just love this one. He has started to say some pretty funny words, and when he started saying "yellow" we just had to get it on video because it's super cute. Just a note, I realize he is playing with wires and a VCR, but nobody panic. Nothing's plugged in, he just likes the colors of the wires. No need for CPS intervention or anything.

William's 1st Easter

This is a picture of William's first Easter. I can't believe how fast time flies! I love this age that he is now, but I still miss cuddling that tiny little baby! He had absolutely no idea what was going on, or why I had him dressed in clothes that were WAY too big for him (family tradition on my side that kids get dressed up for Easter, particularly in things that are horribly uncomfortable). Time goes by way too fast when you have kids.

13 months old...sort of!

This is our little monkey at 13 months old. Ok, he doesn't turn 13 months until Saturday, but hey. It's not like his appearance is going to dramatically change in the next 3 days, ok? Some of his big achievements right now are:
crawls...super fast!
pulls himself up on the furniture constantly
cruises along the furniture, as well as walks with a push walker
says mama, dada, oh, uh-oh, and wow
is completely off formula and bottles
has been off binkies for a really long time now
sleeps through the night and naps great
feeds himself the majority of his meals and snacks

So basically, he's a genius!
